Prager Metis CPAs, an independent, full-service public accounting and consulting firm with offices in the U.S. and London, officially welcomed Peter J. Scalise as their newest Director, with the functional title of Federal Tax Credits & Incentives Practice Leader.

Under Scalise’s guidance as Federal Tax Credits & Incentives Practice Leader, several new service offerings will be made available to Prager Metis clients, including, but not limited to:

Scalise is a distinguished BIG 4 Alumni Tax Practice Leader, with over 20 years of progressive public accounting experience in developing, managing, and leading multi-million dollar tax advisory practices on both a regional and national level. He is a highly acclaimed thought leader in the fields of accounting and taxation with deep subject matter expertise in connection to designing, implementing and defending methodologies for specialty tax incentives including, but not limited to, research tax incentives; orphan drug credits; therapeutic discovery credits; energy tax incentives; accelerated depreciation planning as it relates to both cost segregation analysis and construction tax planning; and preservation tax credits including both historic tax credits and rehabilitation tax credits.
Peter is also a renowned keynote speaker and author on specialty tax incentives, tax controversy matters, and legislative updates from Capitol Hill for NAREIT, USGBC, AICPA, ASTP, NATP, ABA, AIA, TEI and serves as a volunteer member of the iShade Tax Faculty. Peter serves on both the Board of Directors and Board of Editors for The American Society of Tax Professionals (“ASTP”) and is the Founding President and Chairman of The Northeastern Region Tax Roundtable, an operating division of ASTP.
Prior to joining Prager Metis, Scalise was the National Partner-in-Charge, Federal Tax Practice Leader with Engineered Tax Services. He holds a Master’s degree in Taxation from Pace University and a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from Hunter College. Scalise is based at the Prager Metis Eastside Office in New York City.
