Tax Relief for Maine December Storm Victims. Affected taxpayers now have until June 17, 2024, to file various federal tax returns and make payments, including individual income taxes, estimated quarterly charges, payroll and excise taxes, and returns for partnerships, S-corporations, corporations, and tax-exempt organizations. The relief applies automatically to taxpayers in FEMA-declared disaster counties: Androscoggin, Franklin, Hancock, Kennebec, Oxford, Penobscot, Piscataquis, Somerset, Waldo, and Washington. The IRS will also abate failure-to-deposit penalties for specific payroll and excise taxes. Contact our tax experts to learn more.
