Professional Experience
Robbin E. Caruso is a Partner in the Tax Department of Prager Metis CPAs, a member of Prager Metis International Group. Robbin has been practicing in the accounting industry for over 30 years.
She specializes in complex tax resolution, planning and compliance matters for individuals, fiduciaries, and businesses. Robbin’s passion for her work shows through her dedication to both clients and staff. Utilizing her experience, she represents clients with various federal and state tax controversy resolution matters, including tax audits, foreign filing issues, offers in compromise, voluntary disclosures, passport revocations, and negotiating payment agreements. She also oversees accounting and tax planning matters for her high-net-worth clients.
Robbin is an active member of the AICPA, NJCPA, and Forbes Finance Council. She is currently serving in her 5th year as the Chair of the American Academy of Attorney-CPAs Tax Liaison Committee, representing the group monthly before the IRS’s National Public Liaison at Practitioner Meetings. She has served on various boards and finance committees over the years, inclusive of the Prager Metis CPAs’ Advisory Board and Canyon Creek Condominium Association. Robbin graduated summa cum laude from Kean University, where she served as the Vice President of Phi Kappa Phi National Honor Society and was later an adjunct professor at Kean University for nine years.
Robbin is a proud recipient of a 2022 NJCPA Ovation Award in the Impact Category in recognition of her service during COVID in developing and sharing her expertise on tax relief with the community and through numerous talks sponsored by New Jersey Business & Industry Association. She regularly presents on webinars and at educational conferences to peers and the community and has served on panels for Business Insider, the NY BAR, and other professional organizations. In 2023, Robbin became a member of the Forbes Finance Council, where she appreciates the opportunity to share her knowledge and expertise on tax planning, compliance, and tax resolution with the Forbes audience.
Robbin is active with a number of non-profit and charitable organizations including the Prager Metis Charitable Foundation; the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society; Rotary International, Inc.; There Goes My Hero; Make A Smile Foundation; and Alzheimer’s Association. In her free time, she enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, ballroom dance, entertaining, art, and especially loves needle arts.
