Prager Metis Launches New Entity PM Business Advisors

Prager Metis International, an independent, full-service public accounting and consulting firm with offices in the U.S. and London, announced the formation PM Business Advisors. The formation of PM Business Advisors was effective January 1, 2016.

PM Business Advisors will offer State & Local Tax Advisory, services including sales tax recovery and audit defense, Federal Tax Advisory services, such as cost segregation and r&d tax credit studies and Business Advisory services, such as accounts payable recovery and strategic sourcing.  Chris Vignone, a Principal of Prager Metis, will be the CEO & Managing Director of PM Business Advisors. “The timing was perfect to spin off and rebrand our advisory services,” says Vignone, “Our advisory services has grown to a level where we wanted to offer an additional layer of independence to our clients and referral sources. We are excited about going to market with our new offerings such as our Trusted Partner program. Through this program, we will work with CPA firms nationwide to offer unique, value-added services to their clients.”

The new structure will allow advisory services to remain focused on its main two main verticals: 1) servicing Fortune 1000 businesses with asset and tax recovery services and 2) partnering with CPA firms nationwide to offer advisory services to their clients.   “Although we have had tremendous success with many of our advisory service offerings over the past three years, we believe that the proper platform for exponential future growth is an independent entity”, says Glenn Friedman, CEO of Prager Metis “We believe the new entity structure will be very attractive to PM Business Advisor’s target market and will allow the group to expand into additional service lines in a more efficient manner.”

PM Business Advisors will be headquartered from 14 Penn Plaza in New York City and will have additional offices in White Plains, New Jersey, and Los Angeles.

連邦政府、紙の小切手に終止符‐電子決済一本化へ

アメリカ政府で長年にわたり使われてきた紙の小切手が、ついに姿を消そうとしている。2025年3月25日、トランプ大統領は「Modernizing Payments to and from America’s Bank Account」と題する大統領令14247号(EO 14247)に署名した。これにより、2025年9月30日をもって小切手や郵便為替といった紙ベースの決済は原則廃止され、すべての連邦政府取引が電子決済へと切り替わる。その目的は、時代遅れとなったアメリカにおける紙の決済手段を排し、効率と透明性を高め、金融取引をスピード化することだ。しかし、この「デジタル・ファースト」指針は、米国内に銀行口座を持たない外国企業―特に日系企業―に実務上の大きな波紋を広げようとしている。今回は、本大統領令の概要と、実施期限である2025年9月30日の前後に検討すべき事項を概説する。 A. 大統領令14247とは 2025年9月30日以降、すべての連邦政府機関は、限られた例外を除き、社会保障給付、税金還付、ベンダーへの支払い、政府内送金などにおいて紙の小切手を発行できなくなる。代替手段として、各機関は以下の電子決済手段を利用する。
