Shawna Samuels

Professional Experience

Shawna Samuels is an Audit Supervisor in the Financial Services Group at Prager Metis CPAs, LLC (“Prager Metis”), with more than fifteen years of public accounting experience serving financial services and real estate clients. She has extensive experience leading audits for broker-dealers, investment companies, asset managers, banking institutions, real estate entities, and trusts with a strong focus on regulatory compliance and industry standards.

Prior to joining Prager Metis, Shawna was a member of the Financial Services Group at CohnReznick LLP, where she served as a broker-dealer specialist. In this role, she supported complex audit engagements and was actively involved in developing and delivering firmwide, industry-specific training programs, enhancing audit quality and technical expertise across engagement teams.

Before CohnReznick, Shawna served as an Audit Senior at Forvis Mazars, LLP (formerly WeiserMazars LLP), where she expanded her technical leadership experience across broker-dealer, investment company, and real estate engagements. She began her career at PwC LLP in the Banking and Capital Markets practice, gaining broad-based experience with broker-dealers, asset management firms, banking institutions, real estate clients, and credit rating services.

Shawna holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She is currently in the process of obtaining her CPA certification.
