Professional Experience
James Weikart is a Principal in the Tax Department of Prager Metis CPAs, a member of Prager Metis International Group. He has been in the accounting profession for more than 35 years.
James has an expertise in investment management with a strong interest in socially responsible investing. In 1979, James founded Weikart Tax Associates and later merged his firm with Prager Metis.
James has his Series 63, 66, and 7 licenses. He is also licensed in life and health insurance in New York State. As an Enrolled Agent, he is allowed to practice before the Internal Revenue Service. James has written tax opinion pieces that have been published in The New York Times and other publications.
In his volunteer work, James has been a past president of the International Association of Crime Writers and Community Access, an advocacy group for the homeless mentally ill. He has two published mystery novels: Casualty Loss and Harry’s Last Tax Cut. His short stories have appeared in Ellery Queen, Alfred Hitchcock, and Mystery Monthly.
