Troy I. Schreck is a Director in the Royalty Audit & Contract Compliance Group of Prager Metis, a member of Prager Metis International Group. He began his career in the accounting industry in 2006.
Troy specializes in label & publishing royalty administration, royalty audits, catalog valuation/analysis, income tracking, catalog and copyright registrations. Managing all aspects of client’s royalties including artist, publishing, neighboring rights, writer royalties, residuals, participations and merchandise, including preparation of financial statements and ad hoc reports.
Troy has a deep understanding of the music industry and has represented clients from all genres – hip hop to jazz to rock. Troy is a huge music fan and musician, so he takes great care in the work he provides to his music clients. He works with a variety of artists, attorneys and managers that have helped provide and shape his comprehensive view of the industry. Troy is adept at deciphering music contracts and financial statements which has helped him to find missing money due to his clients.
Prior to joining Prager Metis in 2020, Troy worked as Manager of Royalties and Participations servicing high net-worth entertainment clients. He also worked as a Contract and Licensing Specialist where he helped draft and negotiate licensing agreements and helped to pitch songs for use in film, television, advertising, and record compilations.
In his spare time, Troy is an avid guitar player with more than 3 decades of experience. He played in rock bands in his youth but now primarily prefers making his own fingerstyle and acoustic arrangements on the guitar.
