Professional Experience
David M. VanHerwynen is a Manager in the Advisory Services Department of Prager Metis CPAs, a member of Prager Metis International Group. He has been practicing public accounting since 2006. He has over sixteen years of experience, with a focus on forensic, litigation, and valuation services for seven years.
David specializes in providing business valuation, financial forensics litigation support, valuation of intellectual property, intangible assets, and options valuation services to a wide range of clientele. He has experience in several industries, some of which include construction, hospitality, manufacturing and distribution, real estate, wholesale and technology.
David strives to understand every client in order to tailor accounting services to their individual needs. He has the ability to explain complex accounting issues with clients who do not have a background in finance. Through initial discussions with clients, David is able to assess the technical aspects of what they need, and translate it into a valuable resource for them. David assisted in several cases involving shareholder disputes, matrimonial lawsuits, economic damages and IRS Audits of Appraisals. He has also prepared numerous valuation reports used in estate, gift tax preparation and planning.
David presented on Business Valuations at the New York State Society of CPAs, Rockland Chapter. He is actively searching for future speaking opportunities. When David is not working, he likes to spend his time cooking, learning culinary techniques and trying new recipes.
