June 18, 2020 – Basking Ridge, NJ — Prager Metis, a leading advisory and accounting firm with offices in North America, Europe, and Asia, is very proud to recognize three of our team members for being named by the New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) as Ovation Award Winners! The Ovation Awards were announced June 18 at the NJCPA Annual Business Meeting and distributed in seven categories: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Emerging Leader; Exceptional Educator; Impact; Innovation; Lifetime Leader and Woman to Watch.
Chief Success Officer Walter J. Brasch, CPA, CGMA was honored as this year’s Lifetime Leader. Managing Partner – Basking Ridge Office Richard M. Fuchs, CPA and Assurance Manager Jesse M. Herschbein have both been honored as winners in the Impact category.
The Lifetime Leader category celebrates the standout NJCPA member of exceptional merit for remarkable contributions to the accounting profession over the course of their career. The individual has abundant professional achievements, extensive community service, steadfast determination and model leadership, making the recipient of this distinction a truly exceptional, lifetime leader.
Mr. Brasch is a former President of the NJCPA and is a member of multiple NJCPA committees. His career has been dedicated to advancing the accounting profession. In his current role as Chief Success Officer and member of our Firm’s growth pillar and leadership team, Walter works closely with Prager Metis’ Office and Regional Managing Partners, as well as individual practice and industry leaders to achieve a greater level of success, improving the growth potential of their business plans and mentoring them on business development best practices.
The Impact category recognizes those who dedicate meaningful time and energy to any of the following commendable endeavors: giving back to the community; sharing professional expertise to support others; or advancing the interests and needs of the accounting profession through active engagement, leadership or advocacy.
Mr. Fuchs has had an immediate impact on the office culture since joining Prager Metis. As Office Managing Partner he has always been quick to make sure everyone feels like they are part of the team and part of something bigger. In addition to his role as OMP, Rich is a leader of the Firm’s growth team and is responsible for ensuring that each of the firm’s industry groups has a sound business development and growth strategy.
Mr. Herschbein has always been dedicated to furthering the accounting profession and brought that passion with him when he joined Prager Metis. Jesse participated in both the NJCPA 2019 Food Drive, setting the Hackensack office up as a donation location – and the Essex County Chapter food drive. Most recently, Jesse was named a Trustee for the Society. In addition to this role, Jesse is a member of the Emerging Technologies Interest Group, the Accounting & Auditing Standards Interest Group, and the Volunteer Relations Committee. He is also the former Director of the Essex County Chapter, and he also has previous experience serving on both the Content Advisory Board and the Student Programs and Scholarship Committee.
